Haig Seferian is one of Canada’s most recognized landscape architects, with more than 40 years of experience in landscape architecture, urban design, master planning, environmental planning, park development, and placemaking. As Founder and Principal Landscape Architect of SDG Landscape Architects, he has led hundreds of projects across Canada and the United States for municipal, provincial, federal, institutional, commercial, and private-sector clients. 

A respected leader within the profession, Haig is known for combining design excellence with constructability, creating landscapes that are memorable, sustainable, and community focused. His work spans large-scale public parks, institutional campuses, educational facilities, urban redevelopment projects, ecological restoration initiatives, and award-winning private landscapes. 

Beyond professional practice, Haig has dedicated much of his career to education and advocacy. He has served as a professor and lecturer at Humber College, Toronto Metropolitan University, the University of Guelph, and Landscape Ontario’s School of Horticulture. He has delivered hundreds of presentations throughout North America to landscape architects, designers, contractors, suppliers, municipalities, and industry organizations on landscape architecture, horticulture, construction, and design excellence. He is also a published author and television personality, having hosted HGTV programs including Green Force and Garden Architecture, and authored the book Hardscaping. 

Haig currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Botanical Gardens, Board of Directors for the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, Building Committee Director for Landscape Ontario, and the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Council.

In recognition of his contributions to the profession, Haig was elevated to Fellowship in both the American Society of Landscape Architects (FASLA) and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (FCSLA), distinctions reserved for individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the profession.
