PUBLIC PARK  //  SPLASH PAD

SDG is currently working with the City of Guelph to design and develop a splash pad that will serve as the focal point of Margaret Greene Park and the neighbouring community. The splash pad has been thoughtfully designed to interact with the adjacent amenities on site including a playground, washroom building, tennis courts, and sports fields. The design was developed around the vision to provide users of all ages a recreational space that is playful and natural. Organic in form, the splash pad is broken up by a prominent seat wall which becomes an element of play. An emphasis on providing site users with shade offered by tree canopy, as well as a leaf-shaped shade structure. Around the splash pad, site users can seek rest on benches, picnic tables, or natural turf berms that envelop the space.SDG’s scope of work includes the full range of landscape architectural services from schematic design to contract documents and administration. Working with the City of Guelph, SDG also performed numerous community engagement sessions where neighbourhood comments had a role in the design process.
