Located just south of the QEW, this projects scope encompasses an important intersection that acts as a gateway into Downtown Burlington. Currently working through Phase 1 of 3, we conceptually integrated three new high-rise buildings cohesively along Brant Street which transitions to immediate neighbourhoods along Ghent Avenue. Our work provided a vibrant and animated streetscape design that created a fully integrated, functional public space that draws people together and helps create a vibrant, safe, and socially active space. The proposed streetscapes adhere to the latest approved Urban Design Guidelines for Downtown Burlington. The guidelines prioritize pedestrians to ensure a safe and comfortable walking experience. We provided the space with a naturalized park, where residents of the buildings and people of neighbouring properties could go to promote community involvement and play host to community events and activities. This project is currently working through municipal approvals for Phase 1, with all 3 phases planned to be completed in the next 10 years. SDG was retained by Molinaro Group.
